Born from a family's hardest moment
Aptcure exists because one family could not find the help they needed after a stroke.
When my father had a stroke in Bangalore, our world stopped. After the ICU, after the step-down ward, after the neurologist said "he's stable enough to go home" — we were handed a photocopy of exercises and told to "find a good physiotherapist."
That search nearly broke us. We called dozens of numbers from JustDial. Most physiotherapists had zero neuro experience. The ones who did were booked weeks out or only worked in hospital OPDs. We tried three different therapists in two months — none had a system, none tracked whether Appa was actually improving, none taught my mother what to do between sessions when his shoulder started hurting.
The worst part wasn't the logistics. It was the loneliness. At 11pm, when Appa's hand was swelling and we didn't know if it was normal, there was nobody to call. No one who knew his case. No one who could tell us if we were doing the right thing or making it worse.
Aptcure is the service I wished existed during those months. A verified neuro-rehab specialist matched to your needs. A daily plan you can follow with confidence. Progress you can actually see in validated clinical scores. And someone to reach when you're scared.
No family should have to figure this out alone. That's why we're building this.
Our Vision
To become India's care delivery system for home-based rehabilitation — starting with stroke, expanding to every condition where a patient recovers at home and needs structured, specialist-guided care with real human presence.
Our Mission
To connect every family navigating neurological recovery with a verified specialist, daily guidance, and the confidence that they're not alone — regardless of their city, language, or income.
Our clinical philosophy
We are not a booking app. We are a data-driven care delivery company that uses technology to support better clinical outcomes.
Adaptive protocols, not photocopied exercises
Every exercise plan draws from condition-specific, validated clinical frameworks and adapts based on pain feedback, completion rates, and recovery milestones. The plan is structured clinical data — not a template — and evolves as your family member improves.
Validated assessments and structured clinical data
We capture structured clinical data using validated assessments — Barthel Index, Tinetti, FIM, grip strength — at every milestone. This gives specialists, families, and institutions a clear, evidence-based picture of progress.
Proactive monitoring, not passive check-ins
The system continuously monitors clinical scores and flags concerning changes — Tinetti drops, missed session streaks, PHQ-9 spikes — so your care team can act before problems escalate.
Caregiver as care partner, not helpless bystander
Family members are trained to safely assist with exercises between specialist visits. The caregiver is the most important person in recovery — we treat them that way.
What we believe
Caregiver-first
The family member doing daily care is our primary user. Every design decision, every feature, every notification starts with their needs.
Clinically honest
We never overpromise recovery. We build confidence through realistic goals, visible progress in validated scores, and evidence-based care.
Provider respect
Your patients stay yours. We never reassign without consent. We're a tool that makes clinicians more effective, not a middleman that replaces them.
Outcomes over features
Every feature that doesn't ultimately improve patient recovery or caregiver confidence gets cut. We measure ourselves by clinical outcomes, not app downloads.
Built for how India actually works
Regional languages, WhatsApp fallbacks, offline mode, low-end Android support, UPI payments. Technology that meets people where they are.
Nothing breaks completely
If the app fails, you can still reach your provider on WhatsApp. If a provider cancels, we find a backup within hours. Graceful fallbacks for everything.
